MIM - Faux Brush Lettering

Amy Sheffer, who has quickly become one of my favorite designers at Papertrey Ink, is the hostess for Make It Monday this week.  She is challenging us to try the "Faux Brush Lettering" technique she demonstrated in her video HERE.

I like the look adding water color to your image gives.  I decided to try a new to me "stamp-and-spritz" technique I saw at Darnell's blog in THIS POST.

I like both these techniques because the whole water coloring craze in Blogland has challenged me BIG time. Most of the time I have tried using water colors the card ends up in my "Epic Failure" bin! This  goes to show talent does not necessarily run in the family! Take a look at my sister's water color art HERE (keep in mind... she is a beginner! gulp!  : )

Thanks a bunch for stopping by..... before I go I gotta ask! how many of you figured out the sequin on the letter "g" conceals an oopsie! giggles!! I wish I could wear sequins on my hips! : p

Have an awesome day friends!!

Patti

Well you rocked this technique, love the arty look to this. Just visited your Sister's blog and left a comment. She is amazing! Perhaps you could show her how to have a followers sidebar..I would sign up, if she does, will you let me know. I had no idea the sequin covered up a mistake. I am always doing stuff like this. I am not so good at throwing cards away, I just cover up mistakes!

Hi Patti!! Our mutual friend, Lisa Elton, sent us all over to ogle your talents - she tells the truth! Awesomeness found HERE! I had not figured out the oops on your fabulous card - and giggled more than a bit about your sequined hips - PPP doesn't even have enough for the coverage I'd need! Happy to 'meet' you!

I adore this Patti! Your card makes me want to pull out my fruit stamps now and give them some love. ;0) The sequins are always a great touch but I had no idea it was covering an "oopsie" either. Perfectly done! Your comment about wearing them on your hips had me laughing. :0D Don't we all wish that!
Have a blessed day, my friend!

ps... Your sisters water colors are amazing!! I had no idea you were sisters but had thought you looked alike when visiting her blog recently.

And here I thought you strategically placed that sequin on the "g" because it looked so cool there! Your card is just beautiful Patti, and I think your watercoloring and lettering is just perfect! Lovely, lovely card! And I wish sequins on the hips worked too...dang it!! :0)

Your card is lovely, and had you not said anything about that sequin hiding a flaw, I would have never known - too busy ogling your beautiful creation!

You very much underestimate your water colouring skills. Your card is fabulous! The sentiment and those glorious cherries turned out beautifully. You always leave such friendly, positive and very generous comments on my blog and I always very much appreciate them x Looking forward to your next creative project x

Oh my gosh Susan is amazing!
I love this card,it reminds me of summer! When I was little it seemed I always had a dress or outfit with cherries on it! So this card warmed my heart as soon as I saw it!

Thank you for the shout out, my friend! I think you did a remarkable job on your scratch and sniff technique! Wait. What? THAT'S not right! You know what I mean! Seriously, great card!! Isn't that just the best way to faux your way to watercoloring? I mean, especially having a sister like yours! I have't been to her blog in ages and forgot how talented she is! WOW!! Since she may not remember me, could you ask her to put a "subscribe by email" button on her side bar so I can join and then let me know if she does? Thanks! Hugs, Darnell

You rocked it, Patti! Wonderful job with the lettering and the artsy stamping too. P.S. Sequins on our hips would be the opposite of good, just sayin' :)

Your faux lettering looks amazing and the way it matches your cherry leaves really brings the image together. Laughing at your sequin booboo, I used sequins on my card for the same reason!

That card is so nice!! Just love those colors so much! It just all goes together so perfectly. Great job!

LOL, you could have got away with not confessing about your strategically placed sequin ;) Love the watercolour effect, this one's definitely not destined for the Epic Failure bin (I have one of those too!)
Just visited your sister's blog ... wow! I'd love to be able to paint like that instead of just colouring in :)

Patti, your card is simply scrumptious using two different techniques. You aced both. Had to chuckle about your sequin placement...and the hips. So glad to see you directed people to Susan's worthy blog and beautiful art. Have an awesome week!
