True Confessions

Ok! so my friend and yours, Darnell of djkardkreations blog announced that she was planning a new challenge blog called Twofer! that was to go live on January 10th. Despite evidence to the contrary -  I read all the rules and then reread them.  I have not been able to play a lot of challenges of late and I wanted to be sure that I could support Darnell so I created not one but two sets of "Twofers" just so I would be ready in plenty of time..... umm well luckily I let Darnell know that I was ready to go with my cards a day or so before the deadline.  As sweet as pie Darnell interrogated questioned me to ascertain how on earth I found out in advance what the prompt word was going to be!
.
Much to my great surprise and embarrassment I realized my mistake! when I re-read the rules again : ) The funniest part of it all was that one of the sets of cards I made included Flamingos! so when the challenge went live on kick off day and the prompt word was "feathers" it turned out I was ready anyway! LOL I waited until someone else posted a card before I posted mine, thank you Michele, because I'm a fradie cat giggles.  Oh! and Darnell forgave me for giving her a heart attack : )

My cards today are the second set of cards I made in advance for the Twofer challenge.  I decided not to wait until such time as the prompt word might be "sweaters" and go ahead and post them "for no reason"! : )

I so enjoyed reading your blog Patti....how organised and funny are you to do the two sweater cards in anticipation of the twofer challenge LOL xxxx Your two cards are adorable and love the sweater stamps and two great sentiments. I shall chuckle about this post for a little while longer x

Your story was delightful and so funny! Won't your jaw be hitting the floor if in fact the 'prompt" word is yarn, or clothing!! You might have some special gifts in your arsenal, Patti! *wink *wink I love seeing what you create!! Have a lovely weekend friend!

Oh Patti!! When your card showed up in the gallery, I had a good (and kindhearted) chuckle!! Your amazing flamingos were perfect for the very first Twofer Challenge!! And I'll give you a hint: the prompt for February is not 'sweaters,' lol! These are two warm and sweet cards. I love the clean and simple lines with those pretty pops of color. Adorable cards, and I really hope to see you in the gallery at Twofer on the 10th-ish. Hope you're feeling well these days. Sending hugs. Bev

Funny story Patti, and yes, I can imagine Darnell wondering where you were getting your intel! It's too bad the key word wasn't sweaters though as these 2 cards are FABULOUS!! I'm especially loving the one with the mittens...too cute!! :0)

I Love your CAS sweater card designs, Patti. So glad you at least got to use your flamingo cards for Darnell's Twofer challenge. I am glad we did not have to wait until your sweaters fit a Twofer challenge:-) TFS Hugs...

Oh my goodness, Patti, you must have some super special powers. Well, you do for card making, that is for sure! Thanks for sharing the story. Your sweater cards are wonderful. So crisp and clean. How odd that you can no longer visit PTI. Since you enjoy it so, I hope somehow it can be corrected. Hope you have a happy weekend!

Well dog-gone it, that Bev stole my thunder! I was going to tease you and tell you the February prompt was sweater, lol! I do still laugh about our email exchange and I will never forget you were so supportive that you created TWO sets of cards in anticipation of my new challenge! You are my biggest fan and I'm yours! I'm so glad your awesome flamingos ended up fitting - what are the chances?!

And these two sweater designs are so crisp and clean with all that wonderful white space and beautiful minty green and rosy colors!! I love them! Shoot, I wish I HAD chosen sweater as my February word! Thank you for your friendship and great sense of humor! Happy Super Bowl Sunday!! Hugs, Darnell

I have been on a twofer kick lately, Patti. Not for the challenge but for the thrill of making two cards from the same set. I love the story and am glad that you decided to post your darling sweaters and not wait. If there had been a sweater challenge I would have had to sit that one out.

What a great post and good for my afternoon chuckle! You were certainly eager Patti, and for that you should get an award. How fitting that your flamingo cards made the cut. Your sweater cards are filled with warmth and sweetness. Love the card with the added mittens. So sweet!!!

You and Darnell have two of the MOST entertaining blogs with your personalities abounding in your word play. I think that I better put the sweater set on my wish list again. I need your bits of cheerfulness in my life and am happy to read and reread your posts as needed. We have funky internet at our San Diego RV park on Mission Bay but the daily walks around the bay and bicycle rides to the ocean make up for it.
