Hello friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration!  We sure did : )

November is a busy birthday month in our family.  This one is for our son-in-law.  Not all men enjoy had crafted cards but this one does : )  I like creating cards for him because he always appreciates them.

A special thanks to a gal who I now call friend, Nancy Leppek, owner of Scrapper@heART blog and administrator of STB.  Nancy, as many of you know, is kind and supportive and... well one of the sweetest gals in blogland!!  Thank you, Nancy for the opportunity to work with you and the rest of the TALENTED! gals on the team.  It was on my "Bucket List" to be on a team and it has definitely been one of the highlights of my love for this hobby!!

Stepping down doesn't mean I won't be creating cards or visiting with my friends in blogland or even joining the challenges at STB.  You will be seeing me around plenty! : )

Textured Snow

Hello ladies : ) I have a card I created that reminds me of something you would see on a vintage post card.  I started with a red card base and then layered the "Swirl Cuts Background" cut from white cs on top because I thought it would be a good representation of the smoke and snow sure to be swirling when this train whizzes by!  I colored the train with my Prisma pencils and shaded with Gamsol.  Next I decided to add some texture with Snow-Tex and I really like how it turned out.   Have you ever used this product? It is water soluble and dries hard and gives a really nice texture to snow! 

I finished it off with a snippet of Holly from another stamped image and tied it in with some Baker's Twine.  So pretty and festive and yet masculine I think : )

I was able to incorporate lots of circles in my shaker card!  I wanted to use a soft yellow that is one of my good friend's favorite colors but even with my new improved background the camera struggled to capture all that white and light yellow ink.  

The sentiment says:  "Everything's Better with Sprinkles" and what could be more true!! : )

Hello friends I hope you are having a wonderful day : ) I am happy to say I have had some time in my crafty space to work on replenishing my stash of wedding cards.

This sentiment by Serendipity Stamps holds it's own as a focal point so I simply added a little sponged ink for shading and some pearls to embellish.  This is a wedding card but it is a scripture applicable for EVERY! day : )

A Krafty challenge

I love kids!! I mean I LOVE kids : ) your kids, my kids, young kids and old kids LOL so when I saw this adorable stamp set from Penny Black I had to have it!  

I know we aren't "supposed" to have favorites but I can't help myself - I especially "cherish" this amazing young man!.  This card is for our great nephew, Korbyn.  This Penny Black image reminds me of his adorable face! and personality.  I would venture a guess that if you knew Korbyn he would secretly be your favorite too.

Butterfly Kisses

Here is a little card I created for my grand daughter.  She is all grown up now but when she was little I would tickle her cheek with my eye lashes and tell her it was Butterfly Kisses.  She would try to imitate it by laying her face on my cheek.  The results were sweet and funny but she recently told me that she still remembers our Butterfly kisses : ) I love that girl!

Pretty Toppings for this party!

Hello crafty friends and thank you for stopping by today! I am here to introduce a new challenge at the Seize The Birthday challenge blog where we bring you a new challenge every two weeks.  Some weeks Nancy suggests a "topping" for us to follow but this challenge is an "Anything Goes" challenge! : ) where as long as it is a birthday theme you can dazzle us with anything you make!

I used a delicate die from Serendipity Stamps for this fast and simple "no toppings" card .  I cut several cupcakes from white cs and one from pink cs.  I glued two directly to my card front but for the center cupcake I glued three cuts together for some dimension - and sandwiching a pink one between the whites for a hint of color.   Sweet! : )

Simple is good

Today I want to share a card I created as a Simplicity Sister for Penny Black.

Not to get too deep - but I wanted to share a quick thought I had while making my card : ).

Life sometimes gets a little crazy and this year I feel like I have lived 20 lifetimes.  When things have gotten hard I have tried to remember back to when times were easier and more carefree and to remember that those days will come again. : )

This simple little card kind of speaks to me of the hope of brighter days with the shadow of hard times growing dimmer.  I was going to make this a Sympathy card but I realized it isn't with Sympathy that I look back on this year.  Actually many blessings have come to me as a result of my trials and growing stronger and closer to Jesus and the Hope He offers is, by far, worth it all!!

I hope you will look beyond the clouds that may be covering your happiness and find rest and peace in Jesus too : )
