Simplicity Sisters - Mr. & Mrs.

While we were in New Mexico one of our grand daughters announced her engagement.  Though she is not the oldest she is the first of our grandchildren to get married.  We are so happy for them!  I created this card for her and I am sharing it on the Penny Black Simplicity blog today.  Please stop over to have a look at the whole card : )

Twofer Challenge - Blossoms

I am using Penny Black's Sweet Spring 2018 release to team up with Darnell's Twofer Challenge in my post today : )

I just love Darnell - I know I'm not alone!! people from all over the world! wait on baited breath to see what kind of shenanigans she'll cook up for us : ) We are never disappointed are we girls!?!

I wanted to try something clever for this card.  I can't say the technique was really a success but I like how the card turned out anyway : )  I masked off a rectangle in the center of my card THEN lay PB's Petite Blossoms stencil over that THEN stamped the "Script" image in top.  I had hoped the stencil would be filled with the Script writing but as you can see it didn't fill the stencil enough so you could even tell what it was.  So I sponged over the stencil with two shades of green to bring out the "petite blossoms".  I worried that the script writing was actually a distraction but in the end I decided it was "good enough".  A few well placed score lines and a magnificent flower and there you have it! : )

This one was much more straight forward : )

Seize The Birthday with Penny Black's Sweet Spring

Today I want to shed the spotlight on Penny Black's Sweet Spring 2018 release with my entry in the Seize The Birthday's Teal & White Challege.

I started out my card by cutting the largest die from "Ribbon Stackers" from a sheet of plain copy paper.  I didn't use the die cut but rather the negative space - to use as a mask. With the mask in place I stamped a portion of the "Floral Medley" image to the right side of the card.  I colored my flowers and leaves with chalk for a soft dreamy look : )  Next I applied a Ribbon die that I had cut from regular card stock and finally added my sentiment.  Easy as pie and pretty as a picture!

Spring may be in bloom in some parts of the country but we got 8 inches of snow! here in South Dakota yesterday.  So in honor of the white stuff I have combined the Sweetness of Spring with a Merry Christmas card.

I was inspired by the beautiful photo at Merry Monday....

and my design comes from this weeks challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch.

Two great challenges! and there is still time to join them both.

All new CAS Christmas Challenge!

I am excited to participate in the first ever CAS Christmas Card Challenge hosted by Loll, owner of Stamping with Loll blog, as well as an impressive line up of designers!

The theme this month is "Holly".  I created my card using some buttons I have been hording. I suspect that these buttons are 15+ years old! I must have been saving them for THIS challenge! heeheehee

Bring on the Spring!

I was bubbling with excitement when I was asked to create cards featuring some of the wonderful new product from Penny Black's Sweet Spring 2018 release.  This release is busting with the fresh and clean images and dies that I love to use in my cards.  I'm having trouble getting my housework done because I just don't want to stop! : )

I am not sure why but the product picture of the die I used for my cards, "Stitched Stackers" does not show the bonus die that comes with it.  The bonus die is a single 4' metal die.  I show it used on the right side of the picture above.  It truly is a "bonus" I have already used it a couple of times on my cards!

Sweet Cactus

Hello crafty friends I am so pleased you stopped by.  Today I want to share a few cards I created using product from Penny Black's newest release, Sweet Spring.

Aren't those cactus sweet?  I am finding a new found love for cactus as a result of the time we have been spending in the southwest.  I used a cactus vase in my pictures today that my sweet hubbers gave to me for Valentines Day.  I am looking forward to a lot more cactus in my future : ) heeheehee


My first card is a 5" square card.  I cut a top panel from the new "Stitched Square and Circles" die before stamping and coloring my images.  All my cards were colored with Prisma colored pencils.

For my second 5" square card I used the "Stitched Stackers" die to emboss a frame directly to my card face then I stamped and colored the image before attaching my "hello" sentiment.

With some careful masking I was able to create all my cards using the same stamp. Using smaller sections of the image really stretch the use of just one stamp!

My third card is an A2 size.  It is another one layer card using only a portion of the whole cactus stamp.
