BLOG CANDY!! see this post for more information! All you need to do to qualify for a chance to win is to comment on this post!
My post today has been a bit delayed because we are getting ready for a new release and SALE at neckStyles™ this week!! which is always a busy and fun time of the month!
Even though I am barely squeaking in under the wire for the deadline on this SOS challenge doesn't mean I have not been thinking about it. The challenge this week is to use a "faux" technique on your card. I had to do some research to even know what some of these techniques were. I became interested in the faux postage technique so I went looking at Split Coast stampers as the gals at SOS suggested. I found a faux tutorial by Beate Johns. I have been a big fan of Beate's tutorials since the day I began papercrafting!
As you will see this technique is a bit fussy to prepare but once you get the template done it is actually quite simple. Beate offers a downloadable template which I downloaded and updated in Photoshop. I changed some of the postage amounts to different amounts and also added some "Forever" stamps as well. : )
With my template masked off I chalked the inside of each "postage stamp", green at the bottom and blue at the top. Then I stamped my little eggs in each opening and colored them with my Prisma colored pencils. I was having some trouble with my black Memento ink smearing so I decided - especially in lieu of how late it is getting- to NOT use my Gamsol to blend the pencils.
Just for fun I want to point out that I did not cut into the original size of any piece of paper except the white cs base : ) I used scraps!! for all the papers used! How's that to shop my stash!??! : ) LOL
Ok, I'm gonna stop typing and get to posting this my FIRST of !)) cards in my 100 day challenge!!
Please have a look at what the other participants have created for this challenge here on the Shopping our Stash Challenge Blog!
Thank you so much for stopping by to cheer me on!! Oh! and by the way cheering me on does NOT mean you have to say nice things about my cards LOL Feel free to leave a comment to tell me how you REALLY! feel! : )
Happy Monday!

This is beautiful - I have never seen that technique before. I do love postage stamps though (used to collect them) so I love the look of this. Great how you used the ribbon too. You are well on your way to making it to 100! Keep it up, Patti!
What a lovely idea for an Easter card!

what a pretty, happy card and your faux postage is awesome! thanks for SHOPPING YOUR (faux technique!) STASH with us this week!
It looks a little fiddly, but sound you had fun making it. The end result is definitely worth the effort. I used to stalk Beate and her projects. So sad she's given up crafting. But here you are, my friend! ;-)
hugs, Asha
