Serendipity Stamps - Fabric

It is August already!! hard to believe, I know,  but I wouldn't lie to you : )

Today I get to share with you a card I created for Serendipity Stamps Challenge #58 - Fabric.  For this challenge all you need to do is add a swatch of fabric, length of lace or ribbon, or other fabric to your design. You can try stamping on fabric, or die cutting fabric or just stamp an image depicting something made from fabric as I have done with is darling little threesome!

Each month there is a $20.00 gift certificate to the Serendipity Stamps store to one person who enters their project in the gallery!.  To qualify all you need to do is to include at least one Serendipity Stamps image (stamp or die) on your design!  You have until midnight EST on August 29th to link up! We really can't wait to see your take on this fun challenge!

50% off Stamp of the Month

The design for my card was inspired by CAS(E) This Sketch!

I started out by swiping three strokes of ink on water color paper in ombre shades of blue.  After that dried I ran the panel through my Big Shot to get a stitched border (more fabric theme... get it? giggles)  Then I stamped my image directly on to the colored panel.  Next I stamped another image on to a separate sheet of watercolor paper - colored my three dresses in different ombre shades of blue using my Ziggys - fussy cut them out.  I glued the shoulders and bodice only of my dresses down and then sort of turned up the hems to give some movement on the clothesline : ) It doesn't show well in the picture but it does look sweet IRL.

I will also be adding this card to the ALWAYS! fun challenge at AAA cards where they are looking for stitching! : )  Not only is there faux stitching on my card face but each delicate little dress (made of fabric) LOL is stitched with love! : ) that counts right!?!

I will also join the fun at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge where it is Anything Goes!!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!  If you have a minute please take a look at the FABRIC that my talented Design Team members have added to their cards for this challenge!

SWEET Pink and Brown Birthday wishes!

Hello Thursday!!  It is time for our last Seize The Birthday post in July : )

Our "Toppings" option this time around is...

"Pink and Brown"
Just remember to keep it a Birthday Theme!
If you're not a toppings kinda person, well.....you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes"Birthday!

The choice is yours!

My card today was created in honor of a precious little baby girl who celebrated her 1st Birthday last Saturday!! Mary lights up a room with her smile! Word has it... she LIKES! Birthday Cake!! giggles

I used a polka dot stencil for the background as well as my ADORABLE! Sweet Pea stamp set by Lisa Elton for Precious Remembrance Shop.  Next I stamped an "ancient" image from The Angel Company - which long ago closed it's doors.  After stamping the image directly to my card face I then placed a stitched circle die on top to frame my "Just Desserts" sentiment from PTI.  I stamped another little dress image and fussy cut it out - gave it a touch of color and popped it up with foam tape : )

I'm off to the "Big city" to meet a friend for lunch so I'll make this short!  Thanks a bunch for stopping by and have a wonderful day! : )

Think SNOW CONE!

Did it work? did you think of a snow cone when you saw my snowman laying in the snow? LOL

Hello friends : )   Happy Monday Tuesday! where did Monday go? That is about the way the entire summer is going!

As you know from THIS POST I have just created 34 baby shower invitations for an August shower.  As a paper crafter I love making cards even when they are mass produced like the shower invites I just made but sometimes you just don't have the time.  I was recently introduced to Paperless Post.  They have a huge selection of online card designs. They collaborate with leading fashion and lifestyle designers, including Kate Spade New York, Oscar de la Renta, Jonathan Adler, and John Derian. Cool huh!?

Katie, the Community Manager at Paperless Post, invited me to enter "my ideal Christmas card" with a summer twist in a little promotion they are doing.   What could be better than a SNOW CONE in the summer?    Have a look at some of Paperless Post's newest Christmas cards and keep them in mind next time you need a card or cards and don't have the time to create your own."

I will be entering my card in the Merry Monday for Christmas where the theme is Christmas in July : )

Class of 2017

We had a wonderful TOO SHORT! time with our friends from Wisconsin.  One of the main reasons they came was to have their oldest daughter, Katie's, Senior pictures taken by my husband and I.  We are landscape and wildlife photographers not portrait photographers but we had a blast and most of the HUNDREDS of pictures we took are beautiful!  Katie and her Mom now have the huge task of selecting a reasonable *wink* amount of pictures to print.

That is it for me today.  I hope to get out to see what all you crafty friends have been up to while I've been busy with visitors and maybe later I'll get inky if I can find the time : )

Thanks a bunch for stopping by and have a great day!

Happy Birthday Birgit!

Birgit  from Crafting While I Wait blog is celebrating today!!

The happiest of birthdays to you sweet friend.

I rushed a card off to Birgit just a couple of days ago when I learned it was her birthday.  It wasn't THIS card LOL I didn't have a chance to create a new card for Birgit but I sent her one from my stash that I know she'll love : )

I made for my friend, Diane back in May and I have not gotten the chance to post yet. Do you remember THIS "Quilted Frame" A post that shared a gift I made for my sister in Washington?  Today's card accompanied another Quilted Frame" that I made for Diane.  Naturally the colors of her frame matched this card.  I gave the frame to Diane before I photographed it and although she only lives a couple of miles from me I keep forgetting to get a picture.  Anywho!!

Today is SAF at Papertrey Ink and I am sad to miss it.  Don't you just hate it when there are TWO great events on the same weekend!?  BUT! we are having a blast with our friends who are visiting from WI so that softens the blow! giggles  I might get in a little SAF crafting before the Tuesday deadline to enter submissions but if not there is always next year : )

If you are playing along with SAF Have a Blast!! and one last time...

Happy Birthday Birgit

Mama Elephant Stampede!

Hello friends : )  Happy Friday!!

I was honored to create THIRTY FOUR baby shower invitations for a niece in Wisconsin.  Thirty Four invites is a lot!  They wanted a "Woodlands Animal" theme which I was stunned to see I didn't have a single thing to wear to use in my (blush) vast collection of stamps and dies so I had to shop! : )  As the over achiever that I am I decided to do a design that I CASED from Mama Elephant HERE with a bazillion dies to cut out! LOL but when cute is the goal ME and dies just work!

I started with some soft blue and white polka dot pp from Hobby Lobby and cut it with a Stitched Rectangle die.  I inked up the paper a little to make my sweet clouds pop better.  I wanted the fox to be holding an umbrella because of the whole shower thing : ) but I didn't have one so I went to my DIGI file and found one from Dee Dee's Digital Stamp Store (which is now closed).  Next I cut out all the die pieces, the clouds, the fox, the hello and the balloons from the set but only used the string.  It was super easy after all the pieces were cut.  I just colored my foxes and umbrellas and assembled them!  Foxy and the umbrella are popped up with foam tape : )

I printed out the invitation details for the inside on my computer and cut those out with a little smaller rectangle die.

Time consuming but well worth it for our sweet niece and her little "miracle baby" she was not "supposed" to ever be able to get preggers! God is good!!!!!!!

I am linking up with two of my favorite challenges!!

AAA Challenges asking for use of one of our stash favorites and for me it's DIES!!  And Happy Little Stampers where yippee for me the theme is... DIES!!

That is it for me today while I put the finishing touches on my preparations for our good friends coming to visit from Wisconsin today!! I'm so excited.

I hope you all have a wonderful and fun day today!!

Please stop by tomorrow when I will share a VERY special birthday card for one of THE sweetest gals in Blogland!

Special Thanks!

Today is my final day as a Guest Designer for Penny Black.  I have been overwhelmed by the wonderfully kind and supportive feedback I have received.  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop and leave me so much love! : ) My cup runneth over!

As promised I want to share with you how I came to be a Guest at Penny Black and the amazing friendship that has developed.

Back in May Jill Foster, the Social Media Director of Penny Black Stamps, contacted me through THIS POST telling me she had an "opportunity" and asked me to contact her.  Naturally I was thrilled!! Someone of Jill's artistic ability taking notice of my work was astounding to me!

Penny Black sent me a VERY generous amount of product to use for the cards I created for my four days in the spotlight.  Jill assigned this week to me and the rest is history : )

Much to my surprise, and Jill's, we learned that we live only about 50 miles from each other.  We quickly set up a "Crafty Saturday" along with a good friend of Jill's and a good friend of mine at we all met in Jill's home studio for a crazy fun day of crafting and laughing - some wild ink splattering! and getting to know one another.  We all had so much fun that we plan to make it a monthly "Crafty Saturday" date whenever possible!!

Do you know Jill?  Check out this UTube of a recent PB post where Jill talks about Art Journaling. You'll only have to watch a few minutes to see her sweet and playful personality coming out!!  Friends, this talented lady is as kind and sweet inside as she is outside!  I have had the opportunity to work with Jill several times now in her home studio ooooing and awwwwing over work and her beautiful baby girl and a beautiful friendship has formed.  : )  I am definitely old enough to be Jill's mom but she doesn't seem to mind having an "old friend" and meeting Jill for me has been like finding a treasure!

A Treasure! which leads me to the sneak peek of my card for today.  Please take a minute to stop in at Penny Black HERE and see what I've done with some awesome product from Penny Black today.

Thank you as always for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day!!

BIG (((Hugs)))
Patti

p.s. If you ever do get the chance to meet Jill and she invites you into her home and while you are crafting together Jill decides to do something creative like ink splattering.... TAKE COVER! heeheeheehee

Serendipity Stamps July Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends!! It is time for the July Blog Hop at Serendipity Stamps.  When you Hop with us you will have a chance to win a  $20.00 gift certificate to the Serendipity Stamp store simply by leaving a comment. One comment on each Design Team Member's blog means more chances to win.  You have until Sunday July 24th to visit each blog and leave your comments.

 Our theme this month is:

Believe - Create - Dream - Imagine

There was just something about a Dandelion Puff that seemed dreamy to me as a child.  We would blow on those feathery little puffs and  as the little seedlings were carried into the wind we would let our imaginations soar and make a wish! ........ As an adult I know that Dandelion Puffs are the enemy and must be destroyed! LOL  But lets go with the dreamy childhood memory today, OK?

One of the things I love about Serendipity Stamps is that you can sometimes get different sizes of the of the stamps you love.  For my next card I used a larger version of the same Dandelion Puff image.

This is a hop so I'll stop writing so you can stop reading and get hopping! : )   You should have arrived here from Miriam Napier's blog and the next stop on the Hop is Carol Mayne's blog.

Here is the line up.  Remember the more blogs you visit and leave a comment on the better your chances you have to win.

Patti Kehl (that's me)

Be Bold! and Seize the Birthday!

Hello bloggy friends : ) I have been missing from Blogland haven't I!?!  At least I know I have been missing all of you!

All sorts of FUN stuff has kept me away.  We have had family visiting from out of town.  I have made THIRTY FOUR baby shower invitations! I have a new bike so I've been riding almost every day! and ... well ..... just the wonderful distractions that summer brings..... not to mention that surprise I have told you can't wait to tell you about! giggles.

But all that goes aside for now because today I get to share my Seize the Birthday challenge blog Birthday card! where the Toppings for the next two weeks is:

Bold and Bright!

I love these cactus or is it cacti? They were fun to color and check out the freehand water coloring they are sitting on! I don't like to toot my own horn but a puddle of water like this doesn't come out of MY water pen every day! heeheehee

I really will be back to regular blogging soon! I just know I will.  I have been trying to get around to do some visiting while I've been MIA but if I have missed you please bear with me! I will get to you soon : )  I thought I would be back in full swing this week but my wonderful husband is "grabbing me" and whisking me off to Colorado for an impromptu road trip. As a matter of a fact THIS is actually a scheduled post.  I won't be home when this goes live.  : )  Life is good.

I hope your summer is going well too!  Please be sure to visit the Seize The Birthday blog to see what Bold and Bright Birthday greetings the rest of the Design Team have created for you!.  Then make a Bold and Bright card yourself and post it to the gallery.  If you don't happen to be a Toppings kind of person, as always, Anything Goes at STB! so please come join  the fun we LOVE seeing your work!!

Just Add Water

Hello friends : )  Today is the first day of  July and the first day of the the new challenge at Serendipity Stamps blog!! The theme this month is:

I have been having loads of fun watercoloring lately so this challenge was no challenge for me : )   As a matter of a fact I had a hard time stopping so I created TWO cards : )

The challenge at Serendipity Stamps blog runs until July 29th.  You can enter as many cards as you like for a chance to win the $20.00 prize!  To be eligible all you need to do is include ONE Serendipity product on your card or project! Easy Peasey when you see all the amazing product they have HERE!! and that's not all : ) in honor of Independence Day! Serendipity Stamps  is having a SALE : ) who doesn't LOVE a sale?

Buy 3 items and the 4th one will be free (be sure you have at least 4 items in your cart!)

Buy 8 items and 2 will be free – and so on, and so on…
Lowest priced items are free
Clearance, $1 Stamps etc are included (but do you want your freebie to be a $1 stamp?)
Good through Monday July 4th

For my first card I colored my background with regular water color paint.  This is a VERY new technique for me. Lately I have had some success and some failure but I'm going to keep practicing because I really love the look.  Next I stamped my image and sentiment.

I wanted the brushes and pencils to really POP so I colored them with my Zigs.  I just love all the bright colors you get with Ziggys! : )  I carried the bright playful colors over when selecting the sequins for my shaker card.

When you visit Serendipity Stamps don't forget to stop in at the Yard Sale!! Where there are loads of great buys including DP for only $1.00.  The pp I used on this card is from one of those bundles : )

I love both this Paint Brush image and the pretty little sentiment so I paired them together for a fun card!  I cut my Tan colored card base a little thinner than an A2 size to give plenty of room for my DP "flag" to wave : ).  I put my water color panel in the trash can LOL and then splattered until my heart's content : ).  Finally I painted my Paint Brush image with Zigs and finished off the brush  tip with a Wink of Stella. A few well placed (not even hiding any boo boos) sequins and Walla! (Which is South Dakotan for Voila!) heeheehee

50% off Stamp of the Month

Isn't this little munchkin sweet? It is summer time and you don't have to ask kids to Just Add Water twice! I don't know what puts a smile on my face quicker than seeing little ones playing in the sprinkler!

I hope I have inspired you to shop! : ) but if you still need some more motivation to visit Serendipity Stamps check out what the rest of the Design Team has prepared to "enable" you!

I hope you will join us at the Serendipity Stamps Blog challenge this month with your take on this theme!

Thank you for stopping by I appreciate it when you visit! : )
