Twofer Challenge kick off!

Hello friends : )  I am here today with a couple of cards I created for Darnell's new challenge!

This is not only going to be a fun challenge it is going to help me to build my card stash back up!  Every January I review my calendar for the cards I will need for the year and I was super shocked to see how low my card stash has become.

I am also planing a "Secret Pal" program in the Assisted Living home my father moved to last month.  My poor Dad would rather be almost anywhere else! but it was "just time" for them to get a little bit of help.  My step Mom fell in November and had a brain injury so she is recovering in a nursing home a few miles away.  As soon as possible (if possible)  she will move in to the assisted living facility with Dad.  Until then I have been sending oodles of cards to keep their spirits up! : ) I am hoping to enlist my Dad to help with the Secret Pal program there which will also get him out of his room to meet some of the other clients at the facility.  So that means I need LOTS more cards! : ) yahooee! : )

inside: feel better soon
This one will go in the mail for my step Mom tomorrow : )

This is strange I can't get the caption under my cards to show up.  They are there but wont show up when I publish the post.  I checked the font color and it isn't white LOL but.... let's try it this way -

inside card #1:

Feel Better Soon

Inside card #2

Happy Birthday to you and many more

I hope you will join Darnell's challenge.  She has a pretty outstanding DT and I know it will be lots of fun.  You can link to the new Twofer Card Challenge here.

Oooh! I gotta go! I'm having a hard time concentrating on my post because I made some soup today and I can smell it is ready for me to EAT! : )

Supplies:
Flamingos by Reverse Confetti
Sentiments on the card face by Technique Tuesday
Inside sentiments:
Feel Better Soon by Serendipity Stamps
Happy Birthday sentiment by Penny Black

Have a wonderful day friends.

BIG (((HUGS)))

Your plan for a "Secret Pal" program for these gentle souls, so many alone, is really heart-warming, Patti. You are going to be so fulfilled bringing simple joy into the lives of others by making them cards. These two flamingo cards are beautifully executed and then, bam, hysterically funny! Love!! Thank you for your shoutout and support!! Hugs, Darnell

Wonderful idea for a Secret Pal program at your dad's facility, Patti. Think of the joy it will bring the recipients. And such a great idea to get your dad involved so he'll meet lots of people. Genius!!

These two cards are ADORABLE!! LOVE your CAS designs with the most perfect matching sentiments to go with the flamingos. :) Pink and lime green ... AMAZING! Thanks for play along at Twofer Card Challenge. xx

Knowing how isolated housebound or facility bound folks can feel, your Secret Pal scheme is going to bring much joy to the folks living there. You're such a dear!! And your cards are just wonderful! Those fine-feathered-friends are adorable, and fit perfectly into the Twofer's first challenge. Perfect colors, beautiful CAS design, and I'm loving those images!! Thanks for playing along with us!! These are super cute and too much fun!! I immediately got that mental picture of all those flamingos on an unsuspecting someone's lawn!! And the "I'm finally putting my foot down" gave me a giggle! I love what your plan is for the assisted living facility. That will bring many smiles and warm feelings to the residents.

Oh golly, a stressful time for your whole family. I hope your stepmom recovers and is able to be reunited with your dad. What a generous heart you have to start the Secret Pal program. I hope it is a huge success all around. Your cards are beautiful and oh so funny. Great job on the inauguration of the TwoFer Challenge!! :) Hugs!

These are so cute, Patti, and good for you for sending cheer to not only family but those in the AL facility. I know how it is dealing with aging and ailing parents and mine did not want to leave their home either. It was only because they were together, having been married 72 years, that they adjusted fairly well to the long term care facility.

I had to leave you some "card love" when I saw your pretty flamingos cards. I started collecting flamingos images last summer (like I needed to collect something else in stamp images....Ha) Great job with the first twofer challenge.

Your cards are so wonderful and well designed and indeed do work for two different occasions. And, I hope your Dad and step Mom adjust to the assisted living well. I think that is a great option in which they can be independent if they want but still can call on help if needed.

Two wonderful cards! Oh, my gosh, the sentiment on the second one is hilarious! Never underestimate the power of a greeting card. You have a lovely idea for the "Secret Pal" program. Gosh, I check my card needs monthly and have the hardest time keeping up. This challenge will get me two ahead, at least. I hope your dad and step-mom can be together soon.

Patti, two fabulous cards. You are so sweet to think of setting up a Secret Pal at your dad's Assisted Living Place. It is so hard when parents get old. My dad is 97 and still at home with 2 caregivers finally helping out. Hope you have a great day.

Your flamingos are wonderful! I love both of those sentiments - Ah, to be a lawn ornament...maybe not in this weather tho. Your secret card pal project sounds like a great idea! Thanks for joining in on the fun with us at Twofer Card Challenge!

Flamingos are so fun and you've set them on their way to bring a smile to your loved ones. Wishing you the best as you work on boosting their spirits and health care needs. I love your positivity! On our way to So Cal this week without crafting supplies. I will be reading your page for inspiration and delight

The Secret Pal thing sounds like fun, I don't think we have them over here. Your Dad will settle a bit better once he gets your Mum home with him which I pray will be sooner rather than later x
