Spring Blog Hop

My card today was inspired by both the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and Freshly made Sketches Challenge Blog.

Aren't these colors sweet? I am just in love with the PTI inspiration photo!

I began by stamping some flowers on my solid pink card stock and then added a partial velum layer with tiny gold polka dots.  I sewed some vintage green rick rack from my stash to hold the velum in place.

Jen Mitchell from Freshly Made Sketches drew the sketch for this week.  I really love playing with Jen and the other talented ladies at FMS.  Here is the sketch inspiration and my card : )

If you have been blogging for more than a day or two :) you will recognize this icon and the darling Queen of Blogland associated with it:

I am talking about Darnell from djkardkreations.  Darnell is ever challenging us to use our stuff! with the fun twist Darnell adds to Blogland.  Today my card was created using mostly never before used schtuff.  I may have been away from papercrafting but that doesn't mean I was away from shopping! woo hoo  The following supplies are NBUS:

Mum's The Word Stamp Set from PTI
Phrases & Praises Stamp Set from PTI
Butterfly Die cut from Impression Obsession
Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack from Stampin Up

Please join me in hopping over blogland to drink in all the springtime inspiration going on at both Papertrey Ink and Freshly Made Sketches.  Don't forget to stop by Darnell's blog too - especially if you need some giggles : )

Have a great day! and thank you so much for stopping by

Patti

Oh your card is simply stunning! I love the gold polka dotted vellum overlay. It really softens the background and gives this such a classy touch! Thanks so much for leaving me such a kind comment on my blog as well. It's always fun to meet a sister in Christ!

Brilliant! I can't even speak! 1. the colors - my other faves when not using the blues/greens. 2. the mums stamps. Love! 3. the vellum. I have this, why haven't I used it! 4. the rick rack and sentiment. Adore! 5. Seriously, I don't think I will bother playing this challenge because your card should be the winner! It is in my book!

What a unique and beautiful take on the photo, Patti! I can't get over your offset vellum stitched on with ricrac!! And look at that sweet butterfly in the corner! You certainly haven't lost any of your talent for card art, that's for sure! And, goodness, thank you for the unexpected shoutout!!

(I'll send your check off tomorrow. The local USPS is on strike so it will have to be by donkey. You might want to be on the lookout for it about six weeks from now, what with those manly rams on the loose!) But, seriously, you earned a NBUS USER badge for this delight! Hugs, Darnell

Your beautiful card will encourage the recipient so much! I've been busy using Praise & Phrase set on many cards too! Your velum finishes the card perfectly.
