A funny thing happened on the way to Jamaica!

Hello friends,

Have you noticed how life sometimes doesn't go the way we plan?  As it turned out after less than 48 hours on the ship I suffered a severe medical emergency and my hubbers and I ended up in an air ambulance from Jamaica to New Orleans (for customs clearance) and back to South Dakota where I spent my "cruise" in ICU and missed all we had hoped to do afterwards in Florida visiting family and friends from Blogland. : (

I am home now and I'm going to be fine.  I have some recovering to do and, as frustrating as it is, I'm told it will "just take time". pooh!

Blogland is where we go to "get away from it all" and enjoy one another and our hobby so I have decided to keep "over sharing" in check. : )

I did get a couple of pictures as we were in the boarding area and of our room and in a misty rain off the nose of the ship a picture as we left port in Miami.  I also got  a "selfie" in my mirror that my sister, Susan, told me to take. Little did I know this was my last chance to get a picture of my husband and I together - I wish I would have asked him to join me in the mirror : )

Our cabin was sweetly decorated at my husband's request when we got there and as you'll see in the photos he spoiled me with roses and gifts.

Thank you in advance for your kind words of encouragement.  There were many disappointments in this trial but we got to see the hand of God in some amazing ways. He carried us through and carries us still. : )

I will be back to Blogland very soon, until then...

BIG (((Hugs)))
Patti

Oh, Patti, I'm very sorry that your trip was a bust and ended up in an ICU in SD. You must be so disappointed. I thought losing my luggage on a cruise (where the ship store has clothes for regular people and not shorties like me) was bad. Sending grateful thoughts & {hugs} that you are recovering and for renewed strength.

Oh my goodness, Patti! I am so very sorry to hear that your dream trip turned into a nightmare. As others are saying, YOU are much more important than any trip and so I am so relieved to hear that you are on the mend from whatever happened. Here's hoping you can bounce back and be back to your happy, bubbly self really soon. Your hubby sure sounds like a keeper with all that he did to help celebrate the two of you and your relationship. Healing hugs and positive thoughts being sent your way!

Oh NO, I'm so sorry to hear your cruise was disrupted by a medical emergency :( Hubby and I celebrated our anniversary on a Royal Caribbean cruise in Sept. and I know I would have been extremely upset if it had been cut short. I've never sailed Carnival but the room and balcony look lovely, and I'm so impressed by your husbands efforts to make it such a special experience for you! Hope you're going to be OK going forward, medical problems suck!

Oh, no! What a disappointment to have had that happen but at least I am glad you were able to make connections and get your health taken care of. That way you will be ready for the next big vacation you plan to take. Maybe you can do your Florida visit some other time of the year. Just take the time to rest and heal. God be with you and may his healing touch take away the discomfort and pain. When you are ready, we will welcome you back with open arms. In the meantime, do as the doctors say and recuperate.
