Penny Black Sneak Peek and a Watercolor Show and Tell

It is Sneak Peek Week at Penny Black and I get to join the party by sharing some peeks of my own!  I have been having a lot of fun playing with the new "Happy Heart Day" collection from Penny Black that will be available for purchase very soon!

I would also like to share  my watercolor painting that I have just finished.

I started painting this picture for a wedding gift for a sweet young couple who will say their vows this coming weekend.  When her parents heard about it they asked me to include the bride and groom's names and wedding date on the picture.  I was kind of stumped by this request and couldn't think of how to accomplish it.  This is what I came up with : ) The picture is framed to an 11 x 14"

I cut the letters with an old QuicKutz alphabet from the same watercolor paper.

My love for painting in watercolor happened when Jill Foster and I took a watercolor class in about July of 2017.  I have not spent as much time as I would like practicing this craft.  This is my third "frame worthy" picture LOL and even though it is far from perfect I think my young friends will like it.

I just realized I never shared my second picture here so I will do that later this week as well.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by! and don't forget to visit the Penny Black blog to see the darling peeks they have prepared for you!

BIG (((HUGS)))

Oh my goodness, Patti! What a wonderful talent you have, in addition to beautiful card making skills. This is gorgeous! I think you did an outstanding job on this watercolor. Your friends will treasure this gift. Thank you SO much for sharing and I do hope you find time to "practice" (although I think it does look perfect) more watercolors and that you'll share them! Wow!!

Once again, I've fallen behind in commenting and for that, major apologies. Just overwhelmed with card-and-tag making...and dithering about when to send cards given the Canada Post situations. Not good excuses, I realize...
Your painting: OHMYSTARS! The newlyweds will love this, as do I! Gorgeous flowers and the personalizing...stunning! A keepsake they will treasure!
Hoping to visit more regularly in the New Year and will aim for 'drop ins' as often as possible between now and then.

You've created a beautiful keepsake. The tone on tone names/date works so well to not detract from your soft watercoloring. You are a talented lady!!

Patti, You Did It!! I'm so proud of you, and your talents abound, my friend! The request for personalization would have stumped me, too - but look how beautifully you've accomplished it without deterring the eye from those gorgeous blooms = cherry blossoms, perhaps? Bravo, Patti!
