MIM - Paper Scrap Pie Charts

BLOG CANDY for your sweet tooth!! and to cheer me on in my goal of creating 100 cards in 100 days!  For a chance to win simply comment on this post : ) For all the details go HERE.

Today's card was oh so much fun to make!! The very talented Melissa Phillips, design team member at Papertrey Ink hosted this weeks Make It Monday!  She shares a great video HERE.  The challenge was to create a project using a "Pie Chart" made from paper scraps.

Let me share a bit about my process and a SURPRISE!

I started by selecting some coordinating paper scraps.  I wanted to use pastel colors in honor of Melissa Phillips because her signature style is soft and pretty - shabby chic - vintage. I hope I described it right.  I doubt she will see this post but I do not want  to misrepresent her. Please visit her blog you will feel like you fell into a bed filled with down and covered with pillows!

I used an Arrow Die to cut my scraps.

The next step is to arrange your pieces in a pie shape.  Melissa shared how to secure them with some tape on the back before you carefully align your die over it all to cut your shape.  For my card I created two pie charts and cut two different size circles.

Isn't this just the sweetest idea!? What a wonderful way to use your scraps!

As a side note I thought it was funny that Melissa, who is a scrap saver like myself, said that she promised NOT to save the scraps from the unused portion of the pie chart. : ) But I had the sweetest surprise . Look what was left over from each arrow die cut after I cut the large circle....

I just couldn't resist creating a card from these scraps that look like little shirts! LOL I think Melissa would be so proud of me!! I even used the portion of my large circle that  I cut from the left side of my card! heeheehee

What a delightful challenge!! : ) There is still time to join the fun! I'd love to see your Paper Scrap Pie Chart!

Thank you so much for stopping by! and thank you for cheering me on in my goal to make 100 cards.  So far I have completed 29 cards : ) only 71 more to go in 75 days. See why I need cheering?! LOL
