Next - BLOG CANDY!! in case you are stopping by for the first time let me tell you about my the blog candy I am offering.  I have challenged myself to create 100 cards in 100 days! : )  I need your help cheering me on! simply leave a comment on this post for a chance to win - easy peasy!!.  See THIS POST for all the details : )

I have been playing with some sweet papers from American Crafts today called Little Trinket and Dreamcatcher from the "Lucky Charm" collection.

I just love these canning jars!  During the summer months you will find me canning as many fresh fruits and vegetables that I can from both my garden and the local Farmer's Market fare.  I not only truly enjoy the work of canning I LOVE the delicious food all through the winter months.

My first card is for a dear friend of mine, almost like a Mom, who gave ME a Mother's Day gift!  I cut out the three canning jars from my paper and stamped a light pink MOM over the top of the center jar.  It is a bit too light but I didn't want to re-stamp it for fear of messing it up.  I layered a piece of clear acetate over the top of the jars only and stamped my sentiment right on top of the word MOM.  To attach the acetate to the (canning jar portion only of the) card I sewed a section of ric rac on the left side. This secured the acetate in place.  I then cut a lacy trim for the bottom of the "cupboard" shelf.  and glued that to both the bottom acetate edge.  Finally I attached a little ribbon and nosegay of flowers over the top of the ric rac.

For my next card I selected more of the same papers.  The patterned paper with the canning jars on has many many different jars.  The jar on the far left has the words "remember this" printed on the paper.  I wanted to use this as a building block for my sentiment.

Before attaching the jar section to my card face I stamped a sunflower image directly on the pp.  I lightly colored the leaves in the same color as the leaves in the background pp.  I stamped the image again and fussy cut out the head of the flower and colored it with Prisma pencils. I attached the head and then using CTMH  Liquid Glass filled in the flower center - while that was wet sprinkled some copper micro beads.  Then I attached my jar portion to the pp and finally sewed some authentic vintage trim to the bottom of the card face.  Finally attaching that to my card base.

Whew! long post : ) I hope you like these two cards which bring my challenge total to 36 cards completed with 71 days left to go.

Have a great rest of your day!  See you tomorrow : )

Thanks for the shout out! I LOVE your cards that you made! I have a thing for canning jars right now and have a stamp set plus some paper with jars on it. I grew up canning a ton and still can fresh fruit and other things for my family now. It is rewarding to have that home grown food available all winter long!

beautiful cards! I personally would have found it difficult to use several large images on one card, but you pulled it off beautifully! A great colour combo as well.
