Twofer Challenge - Blossoms

I am using Penny Black's Sweet Spring 2018 release to team up with Darnell's Twofer Challenge in my post today : )

I just love Darnell - I know I'm not alone!! people from all over the world! wait on baited breath to see what kind of shenanigans she'll cook up for us : ) We are never disappointed are we girls!?!

I wanted to try something clever for this card.  I can't say the technique was really a success but I like how the card turned out anyway : )  I masked off a rectangle in the center of my card THEN lay PB's Petite Blossoms stencil over that THEN stamped the "Script" image in top.  I had hoped the stencil would be filled with the Script writing but as you can see it didn't fill the stencil enough so you could even tell what it was.  So I sponged over the stencil with two shades of green to bring out the "petite blossoms".  I worried that the script writing was actually a distraction but in the end I decided it was "good enough".  A few well placed score lines and a magnificent flower and there you have it! : )

This one was much more straight forward : )

Here are the supplies I used for my two cards - including links to the Penny Black shop.

Belle #40-595

Belle Cut Out #51-415

Petite Blossoms #20-020

Script #40-470
Stitched Square & Circles #51-422
Eloquence #30-162
Stitched Stackers #51-416

I hope you will join Darnell and friends with her Twofer challenge.  And by all means have a look at Penny Black's new Sweet Spring 2018 release it is busting with  great product!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!

Darnell is great! One of these days I hope to get my act together well enough to try to enter the challenge. Until then, I admire the cards of those who do enter! :) Your cards are lovely. I like the idea you had to try to add the script to the leaves. I think it looks kind of neat, like some texture on the leaves. :) The flower is so pretty! And the embossed lines are a wonderful addition. The sympathy card is beautiful and elegant! Thanks so much for sharing! Have a great day. Hugs!

Wow ~ Patti! These are both stunning! I like the script in the stenciled greenery and your soft water coloring is just perfect. Two little works of heart from one of the sweetest gals I know. (hugs)

You're so right about Darnell. She's pretty amazing, and such a fun friend! And speaking of amazing...I think your technique was a huge success. The script comes through in just the right amount, if you ask me. It's a gorgeous card!! LOVE that soft pink blossom, too. Your second card with that rich, gray base makes your pretty flower just pop. The design is perfect for a gentle sympathy card. Two awesome cards, my friend! Thank you so very much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Sending hugs. Bev

Oh, gawrsh, Patti Pat, you are making me blush!! Thank you so much and I'm sending love right back atcha! I am in love with your exquisite designs! Each design element adds so much! I did/do such uber CAS cards, but doing this challenge has made me expand my design skills and I'm slowly learning that a bit of this (score lines) or that (text over stencil) or even that (pearls) or this (popping up the focus pocus) all add up to a flawless and very interesting design! The same goes with your sympathy card and how you used the text, the circle which adds both texture and dementia, and the addition of bright color to your popped up flower to lift the spirit of the card! Just lovely, just like you!! Thank you so much for enthusiastically supporting and playing along in Twofer Card Challenge #3! Hugs, Darnell

Such a delicate flower on your first card too. Great colour combination on your second card and the grey card stock looks fabulous against that ever so pretty flower. Two wonderful cards Patti x

Patti, these two=fers are amazing...YOU are amazing!! I love your projects and the supplies you used! You are such an enabler my friend! both cards are unique and so different but using some of the same products, they come out so different, which is I guess the reason for this challenge, to challenge our brains to think outside the box and to stretch our stamps and dies and stencils etc!! You have done an amazing job and now I need to go CAS you and see how I do! Have a wonderful week my friend! Heart Hugs to you! Hope spring is around the corner for you...Colleen

Yes, Darnell is a darling of crafting community, isn't she, with her witty posts, from-the-heart comments and innovative creativity! Speaking of which, your Twofer (twofers? Hmmmm....) set is gorgeous! All those 'little details,' which Darnell mentioned so articulately, certainly add impact - and you know precisely which details to include to do so. These are knock-it-out-of-the-park delights!

I think your stenciled card turned out beautifully, whether it was exactly as you had envisioned! It's soft & quite lovely. I really liked the other version equally well....the script behind the blossom, with the circle die makes a very pretty & appropriate sympathy card. I just got this stamp and die, so hope to play in Our Darnell's 2fer. Good job on both of these! TFS

Two beautiful cards with this lovely blossom, Patti! I couldn't see the script so thought I was looking at the wrong card pic, but I guess it's mostly covered by the stenciled leaves. This is so pretty. I love the soft pink flower and the scored framing.

Your second card is really beautiful. I think gray is the perfect colour for a sympathy card. Love the script under your die-cut flower, and the pretty-edged circle with heat embossed sentiment. Two lovely designs! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge!

I totally agree with you about Darnell. She is so fun and talented and I always feel refreshed after reading her posts. And, I want to say I love the beautiful cards you made. And, the script over the leaves looks amazing to me. And, beautifully colored flower too. Your sympathy card is wonderful as well and I love all the texture and layers you have on it. Those are some great dies you used for both cards. And, once again your blossoms were beautiful. Thanks so much for joining in on the Twofer Challenge #3.

Stamping script through a stencil is a fabulous technique and lends just the right amount of interest. Your flower looks so pretty in these soft colors. Love the sympathy card on the grey background with the script and die cut circle! The flower really pops!
Thanks so much for joining us at the Twofer!

What wonderful cards, Patti. The scored detail on the first card adds texture and even though not much shows the script in the stencil is eye catching. The die cut circle is fabulous on your sympathy card and I love the layout.
