Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop

This will be a short post for me today because I'm late getting to the Papertrey Ink blog hop!

The reason I am late is because it took me FOREVER! to think of an idea for this challenge and then just a tiny bit longer to created this embarrassing card LOL that I can't believe I'm posting! giggles!! Ok so the idea is great but the execution?? hmmm Some people will do anything for a prize! LOL

As I was standing at my photo shooting station I said NO! I can't do it and while still standing I created my second card! In seconds - literally LOL

I know none of you amazingly kind and sweet Blogland friends are going to say "you are right Patti you should have sent that first one to the "bin" but we both know better heehee

I am off to see how the real talent out in Blogland interpreted this difficult challenge : )

And just what don't you love about your first card? The design is awesome and I LOVE the softened colours that you used in your background. Your focal point pops like crazy! Your second card is perfect CAS; beautifully done.

Oh, these are both fabulous, Patti! Wonderful takes on the inspiration piece!

What an interesting way to interpret the photo (and I mean "interesting" in a good way!) Love the soft circles and flourishes in your first card's background. And the dimension of your Faith word with the verse stamped over it!

Absolutely loved your first card and was surprised to read as I scrolled down that you didn't even want to post it. I think it's a great take on the inspiration piece. Also love your CAS second card!

Beautiful cards! LOVE your first one, fab colors and I adore how you used that Faith die cut....FANTASTIC!

What a wonderful way to share your FAITH! I was very touched by this card. The sentiment as well as the technique of stamping the image on the raised FAITH. Love it.

Wow! I would like to have some of your creative genes! The faith card will be a precious treasure for its recipient and the second card is perfect CAS!

I just love the technique that you used on your first card. I use it often and I love you yours came out. then after struggling, a card just pops out in seconds and it is so simple and gorgeous. I see you at Seize the Birthday, I just joined too.

I love your cards, especially the first one, I am not sure how you did it, super cool technique!

Oh, so pretty! I love how you raised the word 'Faith.' Nicely done!

OK, Patti, not sure what's wrong with the 1st card. Looked real hard for errors, found none, and love the lifted Faith, which I can't wait to case. Can't believe you made the 2nd in short order. Guess sometimes it just comes together perfectly!

Perfect take! Love the stamp you used!

hmmm...I'm just a stumped as everyone else on your first card. It looks so pretty. I love the circles in the background and the way you made the word faith pop! I love your second card, too! Great CAS card!!! I really think we are so hard on ourselves, mostly because what it looks like on paper isn't always as we envisioned it in our heads!!

Nora Noll said...

Okay I am in love with BOTH of your cards. The first card looks so cool with the way you created the background and the popped faith. I think we are always our own worst critic!!

I see nothing wrong with your first card - it's amazing looking. And the second is a great CAS too! Don't be so hard on yourself (says the person who does the same thing....)

You're being way to harsh on yourself Patti, because I really like your first card! The sentiment, the colors, everything about this card just fits! You can send it to me if you can't bring yourself to throw it away, cause I really do like it!! And I like your 2nd card too...CAS perfection!! :0)

OH, Patti, both cards are simply beautiful. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite scriptures, and I love how you used the "Faith" die with the verse. Fabulous design. And, your second card is a CAS beauty. Beautifully done!

Your post made me laugh Patti - I saw your first card and thought it was awesome! The background, inlaid die cut...such an original take on the pic. The ultra CAS one is fabulous too!

As always, I'm a day late and a dollar short but I just had to comment... I'm as stumped as everyone else as to what you didn't like about your card. I thought it was a great take on the challenge! Your soft blending came out perfectly and I love the background you created and would love to know how you did it. I also think your "hidden" sentiment is a great touch on this card. Your second card is equally CAS and stunning as always. Oh Patti, you are a dear! Don't be too hard on yourself. You could have been like me and not even tried. ;0)

Patti, love your cards! The background on the first card is stunning and enhances your focal point! That was truly skill to get everything lined up so well. The 'enjoy' card is sweet and simple! Love it!!

Why is it that 'us' crafters are so critical. I am amazed at your first card, love the design and honestly when I saw it thought it was outstanding and so very different from others I have seen for the challenge. Very clever and so very creative....Gorgeous CAS second card but for me it's the first one x Please let us know what you didn't like for the first card? I love it!!x

Oh pooh! This is fabulous! You are so silly! I can clearly see where your inspiration came from, and the colors are spot on, and circles - check, and one of my most favorite verses, so yep, I like this one! It's good. And your fast second helping is wonderfully CAS and sweet! Card #1 is definitely a "no-binner," as thought by all your commenters! Have a good week. You crack me up.... Bev

YOu're right, Patti, none of us would tell you to send it to the bin and it nothing to do with being kind or sweet. That first card is jaw-droppingly GORGEOUS! And the second card is simply spectacular. LOVE them both, my friend!

Fantastic cards Patti. I like both. The words are amazing on the first one... I have to look up that set... the die-cut word looks great with the black behind it. Great take on the photo.

Patti, once again you are too hard on yourself. Both cards are totally awesome! You rocked the challenge as always.

Well, I love them both. The first one is very artistically done and the second has an elegant simplicity to it. I think you aced them both. But I know....we are our worst critics. Now hopefully, you are a winner too!

Isn't it funny what we don't like? I think your first card, along with the second one is fabulous. I couldn't even come up with a card for the blog hop.

Two very stunning designs here Patti!! Love the first card with the dimensional sentiment over the design and your second card with the ombre inking looks amazing too!! Wonderful inspiration! HUGS

I think both of your cards are nice but do agree that the first one deserves all the comments. You did a unique and beautiful take on the challenge. I love how you brought all the colors into it in such a nice way!

fantasic cards, love the look of your first one!

Patti I'm with the rest.. I dont see anything wrong with the first one. Being a fussy gal I'm gravitating to that one automatically - on auto pilot! The second is CAS goodness, but the first.. lots going on and really cool - loving the peek of black under the letters.. I'm usually stacking white, but this makes the word die just pop!
