Oh My!

Before I begin my post I want to say THANK YOU! for your over-the-top kind and very generous comments on my post from yesterday.  It just goes to prove there is not an unkind bone in Blogland!

As I read the comments I continually went back to look at my card and scratch my head.  I felt the background was too light and the focal point too dark and the use of black foam under my sentiment just too bold.... but I am really embarrassed now! I truly hope that it did not appear I was "fishing for compliments".  I honestly did not like my card but perhaps it is just as Sue Rose said in her comment:

"....what it looks like on paper isn't always as we envisioned it in our heads!!"

Thank you for always being so supportive! It means the world to me : )

Now on to my post today! : )

I created this card from my nephew, Mike, in Tennessee who is a Tennessee Volunteers fan... fan? did I say fan?? Actually if at all possible Mike would arrange for the blood in his veins to be Blaze Orange!! : )

He loves the Vols and I love him!! He was so excited when he saw this card he proclaimed it was going in the "Man Cave"!! Now that doesn't happen every day!

I embossed my white cs with the United States Die from PTI and just popped it up with foam tape : ) I did not want my TN state die to also be popped up because I felt it would make it too high so I simply cut a few layers of the die and glued them one on top of the other so it is lifted a but but not much.

I added a stitched rectangle to the inside of the card as well as one line from the Chevron cover plate by PTI.

Thank you, again, friends for stopping by and for your comments! they both humble me and make my day!

BIG (((Hugs)))
Patti

Haha! What a great card for your nephew. That's a proud moment when a man says he's going to take his card to the "man cave". ;0) Well done, my friend!

This is a wonderful card for your nephew, and it's a true compliment when a fella says that it's going to have a place of honor in the man cave! Made me think of my grandson who has learned from his mother and I, that "yes, you have to save this card!" Lol. Your card is an inspiration for all those huge sports fans out there. Might have to borrow this idea for those rabid Packer/Badger/Cubs...fans in the family!
As for your PTI card, I just wanted to say that I really did like it. Really and truly. Sometimes what we as crafters don't like, others do. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Head up, and keep crafting! Always fun to see what you've made! Have a good day. Bev

Patti I love this card. I usually dont like orange much but you pulled it off nicely with this combo. Maybe Orange will have a second chance in my craftroom. Actually your cards make me want to duplicate them with what I have so they would be a little different. Even though in this case we dont follow sports of any sort and I dont have a nephew in Tenn. Hahaha. Truly your cards make me want to craft and that is a huge honor that I hope you take and hold close to your heart each time you have second thoughts about any of your artwork. Love always, A number one Fan of Patti!! from the state of WI! where are colors of glory are..... EVERY COLOR, including orange!

Well, it is no wonder that card will be going in his man cave. It is just perfect for his passion. It always feels so good when we know our cards we make are appreciated. And, yesterday I did not think you were fishing for compliments. But there are many times when I am not happy with my work and others think it looks great. But I agree with your friend..what we see in our minds and what ends up on paper are two different things many times.
