Happy Birthday Jeanne Tomshack

Hello crafty friends : )   Please join me in wishing Jeanne owner of Creative Bliss blog a VERY Happy Birthday!!

I first "found" Jeanne in Blogland when I started noticing that she was commenting on many of the same blogs that I was commenting on!  After seeing her sweet face on her Avatar for weeks - maybe months! I finally followed her link to find her blog.  The funny thing was I noticed that she had not actually been posting to her blog for a while.  That really impressed me : ) I was surprised that even though whatever events in her life caused her to be away from posting to her own blog - she was STILL cheering on her Blogland friends.  I immediately began to follow her and am SO happy I did!  Jeanne not only creates wonderful cards she also is a "Color Book" artist : )

Take a look at this beautiful piece she colored.  See her post HERE.

I wish you the happiest of Birthday's friend.  This is NOT the card rushing it's way to you LOL but hopefully you'll like this CYBER card : ) as well as the one you should receive very soon in the mail!!  Have a wonderful day!

I created this card with Jeanne in mind late last night.  I was inspired by her Adult Coloring Book passion as well as the photo inspiration over at the "Just Us Girls" challenge blog.

Isn't this piece remarkable!?!  When I saw it  I was reminded of a piece of clip art that I purchased a few years ago for a project I was doing for my Granddaughter. My card today uses this piece of clip art.

I had a little trouble but in the end I am pleased with the result.  I cut a piece of water color paper and printed the clip art - actually I printed two so that I could experiment with  one.  I let them dry completely and then in very small sections I began to apply some color and water.  As I feared the ink from my printer just bled all over : (  Had I used my husband's fancy printer I don't think I would have had that trouble but it was late and the printer was  unavailable so I had to continue trying to apply color without involving the printer ink.

I ended up just taking my sponge and pouncing my sponge applicator onto the paper - into the places I wanted them trying to loosely follow the inspiration photo.  I really liked it.  When I could I sponged in a circular motion but mostly I applied the color by just pouncing the sponge up and down.  Next I cut the piece from my rectangle stitched die and added my sentiment.  I planned to sponge the background of my card face this morning so I shut off my light and headed to bed.  As I turned back to look at it in the dark I just hated! that I couldn't add water!.  So at 1:00 am I turned the light back on - said out loud to myself...

"You're gonna ruin it!"

..... grabbed some water and a paint brush : ) and.....

I didn't ruin it after all!! The only part I don't like is around the pink - I didn't get close enough to the image and so I feel it looks too "Defined" of a water color blob - but for 1:00 am it's not too bad : )  LOL  When I got up this morning I sponged some color on to another panel trying to follow the colors on my top panel.  I glued that to a card base and finally glued my top panel.  Oh! and I put a piece of fun foam under the entire portion of the top panel. : )

I said HOLY COW out loud when I saw your spectacular card!! How BRAVE of you to add the water. But it worked, BRAVO!!! And in answer to your question on my blog today, yes that is my reflection in her sunglasses!! I took the picture just before a walk and before she grabbed the band out of her cute little hairdo! It made it halfway through our walk ;)

I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor Patti! I am in total awe of this card and can't believe it looks this FABULOUS after working into the wee hours of the morning on it! It's a totally gorgeous image to begin with, and then all the added color just blows me away...lovely, lovely card my friend!! (wonder if a laser printer would have made a difference in the black not bleeding...although how many of us have those printers in our homes?!!)

This is absolutely amazing Patti. Absolutely amazing! The colors, that image in silhouette - there's so much to see. And so much movement to the colors. Crafting after midnight looks good on you - maybe being a little sleepy brings out your daring side!

Oh my goodness gracious, Patti!!! I'm so late to this little party and I'm so very sorry about that. Life has just been happening on my end and I'm very behind on my blog reading. It's embarrassing after you just said that I still comment on blogs. Well, I definitely try! I am SO honored that you would have a post to give me a shout out! I'm not sure why you would, but am so appreciative! And your card. Wow! What an absolutely gorgeous stunner of a card. You did an amazing job on it. It's magnificent. Thank you so very much, Patti. I am so enjoying getting to know you and I adore the card you sent me. I hope you have a fabulous weekend. :) Big squishy hugs!!

Back-to-work means time to catch up on commenting (seriously!), and where better to start than to 'fix' the ones that blogger evidently ate! Dang! Still, revisits make me smile, so I'm forging on! What a beautiful tribute and card for our sweet Jeanne, who truly is one of the most precious gems in this community (as are you!). Knowing her appreciation for awesome art, I imagine she will have this framed and prominently displayed in a special place in her home! YOU are incredible for making her day - and ours - sparkle!
