Today I am being featured on the Penny Black Blog. As you read this post you will find that you can win $25.00 in Penny Black product that I am personally giving away - so please be sure to read the entire post to find out how!!. Today I get to share three "Golden Touches" cards I created for Penny Black's marketing department.
I started with and A2 card base and then cut a top layer approximately 5 x 4". I inked my sentiment from 30-383 "Holy Night" in a dark red ink directly to the top panel. Before adding my 51-273 Tall Trees die cut I painted just the tips of the trees with Liquid Leaf paint. Once it was dry I glued one tree directly to the top panel and popped up the remaining two trees for added dimension. Finally I popped up the top layer with foam tape and attached it to my card base. It took longer to explain this process than to actually create this card! That is one of the things I truly love about Clean and simple cards! they are just so SIMPLE! and... clean : )
I have always love the the look of cream and gold together for my holiday decorating. And for a holiday greeting card this combo is beautiful and elegant as well : ) I started with a Cream square card base and then cut a square top panel from the same Cream card stock. I cut my 51-259 "Oh Holy Night" sentiment and 51-254 "Manger" from the same Cream cs as well. Before gluing these elements directly to the top panel I painted Gold Liquid Leaf to the rim of the Manger die cut. Finally I carefully "dotted" the top panel with some Liquid Leaf paint using the end of a small paint brush.
This is an A2 card base with a top panel cut slightly smaller. I ran the top portion only of the top panel through my Big Shot using the 51-250 "No Two are Alike" Snowflake cover plate - however I didn't cut the die this time I embossed with it. I love doing this technique because it really expands the uses of your dies. Next I cut 51-021 "Love & Joy" and 51-253 "Happy Holly Days" border. I embossed the garland border using Versamark and Gold embossing Powder. I cut this border from water color paper so that I could add a light wash of green on the holly using Zig Clean color real Brush Pens. I stamped the "To the World" sentiment from 30-307 Holiday Snippets and added some red rhinestones for the berries.

These are so beautiful, Patti! All are very elegant looking! My favourite is the middle card - absolutely stunning! I can't believe there is only one of your Fun Fridays left! That flew by! Looking forward to seeing it! I am still on my blog break but will be back next week! Enjoy your weekend!
Your cards are all so beautiful! Your style is always so clean and simple but filled with elegance. I admire that look a great deal!
Wow...so many beautiful and elegant cards! Your first one is my favorite, love that stunning sentiment.
Patti, these are gorgeous...that is exactly what I love about clean and simple too! And your white on white with just a bit of color is so very beautiful! Stunning cards, you have made PB proud I am sure!!
Oooh these are gorgeous Patti, I especially like the first one with the golden touches on your trees. It's obvious from your cards that you love to play with these PB goodies :)
Love your cards Patti. My fav is the first one. I love the gold trim on the trees and the bright red MESSAGE! I like the touch of color on the Joy and really love the gold trim on the holy night. The font is super for Holy Night!
Patti, once again you've dazzled us with your creativity! You've given several PB products starring roles in glorious white/ivory, with whispers of colour (swooning over the gold, especially), perfectly selected and placed, as accents! Stunning! My favourite is the Manger card; several of these would be ideal for my mom who loves cards (as do I) that convey the essence of Christmas! Standing ovation for this marvelous series!
Hugs~c
Lovely holiday cards, Patti. I so like that third one, with the holly and all the joy! Each is beautiful in its own way, but that one especially drew my eye. :)
How pretty all of the
cards are with the
little added paint
touches. Love the
way you made the
last card with the
border.
