Oldie but a GOODie

This stamp set and card design have been used many many times before but I LOVE it! and wanted to use it in a gift pack I am creating.
I just love the versatility of this great stamp set, "A Mixed Bunch", from Stampin Up.  The first card pictured was created using soft pastel papers that were given to me by a good friend.  She found them in a THRIFT SHOP! can you imagine? heehee   After stamping my flowers I then punched them out and inked them using shades of ink that closely matched the paper.

The little vase was easy peasy because it is simply an oval punch with the bottom trimmed off. : ) Love it!

I taped the two lower flowers directly on to the card stock but on the top one I popped it up with foam tape.  I then layered a black circle and a scallop circle stamped with  an "A Round Array" stamp set by SU and popped that up too : ) I carefully folded all of the petals along the center vertical line of each petal to give them dimension.  The centers of the two lower flowers are also highlighted with one of the designs in the "Mixed Bunch" stamp set and then punched out with the scallop punch.  Each flower got a tiny pearl for accent.

The inside paper was the same paper I used for the vase.  I added a stamped flower in a matching ink color and then gave that flower a pretty center using the same technique as described above.

The leaves were a sweet surprise! I stamped them from an old Stampin Up set I believe was called "Beauty" I stamped them on to a patterned paper from SU's "Sycamore Street" designer paper series.  I did not do any coloring on the leaves.  All the color and "pop" in the leaves was simply obtained by the stamp and paper used.

The same design with different papers for a bold and bright look!! This card will open your eyes! hehehee I used SU papers from both "Sycamore Street" and "Floral District" designers series.  This card was accented with tiny rhinestones rather than pearls. (If you like these SU papers you should check out the 80% off sale they are having right now!!)

Each of these cards is part of a little gift I am creating.  I normally make gift packs using all matching and coordinating papers for each card included.  This one will be different in that all the cards have been made using very different papers but the same stamp sets : )

That's it for today! I will post some more of the cards in my gift series tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Patti

Both versions are lovely...but I'm veering to the 2nd vase. I think it's the strong colours.... perfect way to cheer up a friend.
