Waddle in and join me for Fun Friday with Patti & Penny

Keeping it Simple! today both here and at the Penny Black Primary Blog.

How ya feeling? have you had enough fudge?! (like there could ever be enough fudge!) Well fudge or no fudge I'm happy and blessed that you are here because YOU make MY heart happy!! : )

I'm sure by now you have seen the "Happy Heart Day" collection by Penny Black but just in case you missed it you can see the entire collection HERE.

On this Fun, after Christmas, Friday I wanna share three super simple cards that are sure to make happy hearts of those who receive them : )

I think you will agree that this card is pretty straight forward and needs no explanation but allow me to point out that the train is attached using foam tape for some sweet dimension.  Easy peasy to create using the following supplies: Love Train #51-487, Stitched XOXO #51-486 and Happy Hugs #30-524.

My next card was fun for me as it was inspired by a memory of a heart shaped box of candy. When I was in the second grade my father came home with a very large heart shaped box of candy for my mother and taped to the top of the box were five little boxes of "Conversation Hearts" candy for each of his five daughters.  : )

I masked off a rectangle in the center of the red card stock and sponged some red ink on to it.  I stamped my sentiment from "Kisses & Wishes" #30-528 in black ink and attached it to my white card base. Then I cut the largest heart shaped balloon from "Heart Balloons" #51-493 and glued down a portion of the die cut from "Floral Half" #51-445 over the balloon.  My string was created from the "Love and Miss You" #51-494 die.

I will be sending this card to my Dad for Valentines Day.  I doubt he'll remember that day but I know I will never forget it. : )

Speaking of inspiration... look at this adorable little Havanese puppy my sister just got.  Her name is Sophie, she weighs just 4.3 pounds and she has stolen our hearts!!

I'm pretty sure Sophie was not the model for Penny Black's newest little puppy but they are equally as cute and capable of stealing my heart!

"Key To My Heart" #30-523, "Stitched XOXO" #51-486, "Happy Hugs" #30-524 and "Key Cut out" #51-495 were all used to create this happy card.  These and the entire happy Heart Day product release can be purchased at the Penny Black Store HERE.

I hope you had a wonderful celebration with your friends and family.  Thanks a bunch for stopping by and enjoy your weekend my friends!

Fun Friday with Patti & Penny

I'm excited today because it is not only a Fun Friday here at stationery Styles...
but I  am being featured on Penny Black's primary blog today as well : )  (Insert busting buttons here)

I am back again with a Fun Friday post but this time I will showcase a few cards I created using products from the all new Happy Heart Day collection!!

You can see the entire new release in the Penny Black catalog HERE.

The amazing thing about CAS cards is that they are often quick and easy. For this 5" square card I started out with the snowflakes die - cut from red cs - topped with a white panel.  I  stamped the Love stamp : ) colored it with my pencils and highlighted the sweet bear using a gray marker.  Doesn't get much easier than that : )

Isn't this bear cute? I'm guessing Blogland is going to see this darling little fur baby perched on all sorts of places.  For my part I sat him on one of the dies from "Which Way to Love" #51-490 but let me start at the beginning:  Hot pink card A2 base, white panel cut to 5.25" x 4", masked off about half way down and sponged with pink dye ink.  Next I cut some white card stock approximately 2.5" x 2.25" then sponged hearts on to three sides of this piece using the negative of the 4th largest die in the "Lovely Border" # 51-484 die.  All that remained was to cut and color the sweet bear from Key to My Heart using #30-523 and "Key... Cut out" #51-495.  The sentiment is from "Words Sweet" #30-525.

Another quick and easy one....  Hot pink A2 card base, white panel cut to 5.5" x 3.75".  Die cut from "Key... Cut out #51-495 cut from light pink, hot pink and black card stock.  Valentine sentiment from "So Much Love" #30-526.

Wanna shop? here is a link to the Penny Black store.

It is hard to believe that by this time next week Christmas will be over... we'll all be on diets! and we will be counting the days to a bran new year!! I hope your last minute activities are filled with happiness and fudge fun - but most of all I hope they are filled with love and joy.

Simplicity Sister Time!

It is my turn to share a CAS card on Penny Black's "Simplicity at it's best" blog.

I have been sharing so many "Sneak peeks" lately I feel almost guilty to bring you here for yet another one but if you would pretty please indulge me once again and head over to the Simplicity blog I don't think you will be disappointed and here is why....  naturally, as card makers we like the cards we create but once in a while we LOVE a card we've made.... this is one of those cards for me.

I hope you have been having fun at the Blog Hop. If you missed the announcement in...
...don't worry because there is still time to join the hop for inspiration and a chance to win prizes!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a heart happy day!! : )

Penny Black Blog Hop and Giveaway!!

It’s a “Party with Penny!”  You’re invited to join in the fun over the next several days as Penny Black reveals their newest collection of stamps and dies, Happy Heart Day

Penny Black is kicking off the party with a blog hop!

You should have arrived here from Peet Roeven's blog "scrap Album".   If you want to start the hop from the beginning, you can go to the Penny Black blog for a complete list of all of the blog hop participants.

I am especially excited to share two cards with you!! because they are two of my cards that were selected to appear in the Happy Heart Day catalog!!  You can see the catalog in it's entirety HERE.

This cute little bee would never sting anyone! right!? ... maybe not but if you are like me he'll steal your heart!.... I mean he even has eyelashes!! squeel!!

I started my card with a hot pink A2 card base.  Next I cut a panel for the card front trimming it to 5" x 4.25".  On the white front panel I cut the largest heart from the Hearts Around die set.  I love this die because it cuts only the leaves and hearts - what remains is the a delicate stitched heart shape.  I allowed the hearts to peek-a-boo through to the pink card base below but I colored the leaves and glued them back in to place before gluing the whole white panel to my card base.  I stamped the little bee in place and colored him with pencils and then I stamped a second bee image on white card stock using hot pink ink.  I cut out only the heart portion and attached it to the bee in the exact same placement using craft glue where the heart is attached to his body and a piece of foam tape at the upper portion of the heart shape - for some fun dimension.   The very last detail I added was the "love" die cut from black card stock.  It took me longer to describe how to create this card than it actually took to construct it.  Try it yourself!! it's easy peasy!! : )

Here are the links to the new products I used... just  to make your shopping easier! heeheehee: Hearts Around die #51-485, Bee Mine stamp set #30-527 and the Love and Miss You die # 51-494.

My second card also has a hot pink card base but the base itself is 5.5" x 4" - this way the top panel can hang off the right side of the base and still fit in the envelope : ). I sponged some hot pink ink on to the card base using the Dotlets stencil #25-007 and then set it aside.

The top white panel measures 5.5" x 4.25".  I created the large rectangle in the center by cutting the String of Hearts #51-496.  I set the actual die aside for a future project and used the negative for my front panel.   I layered two die cuts from Big Love #51-488 - one in white and one in black replacing the "o" with a heart cut from Hearts Around #31-485.  Before finalizing the construction of the card I stamped a sentiment from Kisses & Wishes #30-528.

The entire Happy Heart Day release is available for purchase today in the Penny Black online store.

It wouldn’t be a party without a giveaway; right?  Penny Black is giving away a $50 shopping spree to the Penny Black online store to THREE lucky winners.  To enter, leave a comment on any blog hop post (this one included). The giveaway closes on Sunday, December 23rd at 11:59 PM PST and winners will be announced on the Penny Black blog on December 31.
I hope you have been inspired by the cards you have seen so far  today!

Tummy Full Of Treats

Hello friends : )  I have been busy! how about you?? This week I got my Christmas cards out, sent hApPy mAiL!! to some VIPs, have almost finished decorating the house with my snowman collection and even managed to get in a  "little" card making : )

I thought I would pop in and share some lovable treats I made with my BFF.

These tags were created using a stamp set and die collection from Papertrey Ink.  They are so incredibly quick and easy to make.  I CASED blogland's friend, Marybeth, owner of Marybeth's Time For Paper blog by adding "zippers" to the back of the tag so that the candy could be removed without spoiling the tag.  You can see Marybeth's post HERE.  Thanks a bunch, Marybeth, for the brilliant idea!!

I have a couple special little girls in my life with food allergies so I left out the candy on a couple and filled the tummys with an even better, more long-lasting treat - beads and string enough to make several necklaces and/or bracelets.

What are you planning for your day today? I can't decide.... I might do some baking OR! make some cards with baked goods on them!! LOL they are a lot easier on the blood sugar!! and the waist line!! heeheehee.  Whatever you are doing I hope you are having fun and making fond memories : )

Fun Friday with Patti and Penny

Hello friends : )  This is my last Fun Friday post for Welcome winter 2018.  I have had a great time playing with some of the terrific new products from Penny Black's Welcome Winter 2018 collection as well as some of my "old PB favorites".  I hope you have enjoyed my "Fun Friday" posts as much as I have. Thank you Jill and the whole PB team for giving me this opportunity : )

Today I have a mix of old and new for you.  My first two cards were created with one of my all time favorite paper crafting dies, the Sparkle String die.  I mean it when I say this is one of my favorite dies! because it reminds me of the kind of lights we had in our home when I was growing up. I love how playful it looks : )  The large card is a regular A2 size card and the smaller one is a 2.50" x 3.50" gift card size.

I couldn't decide if I should include my last two cards in this post.  They both have details on them that are so light that they didn't photograph well.

This card was created with a white card base and a white 3.5" square cut panel from the Snowflake Stitched Frames die.  I embossed the panel with snowflake dies.  The embossed snowflakes compliment the white and silver metallic snowflakes I used to embellish the front of the card.

This card was created with a white card base and a cream card panel on top.  I embossed a Flourishing Tree in Detail White embossing powder and then added the die cut Merry Christmas cut from white card stock.  I have darkened my picture down so that you can get a glimpse of it.  It is a super quick and easy card with a nice result... providing you don't have to photograph it! LOL

I have had great fun these past eight weeks I hope you found some inspiration and a few giggles along with me.   NOW!! even though this segment of Fun Friday is coming to close.... drum roll.... today is the day that Penny Black launches the  "Happy Heart Day"!! collection.

Next Friday I will begin sharing some FUN cards I created with products from this darling release!! I hope you will join me.  Until then... what are you waiting for!? get shopping! and don't forget to visit the Penny Black blog for some sweet inspiration!!

Thank you so much! for visiting!! I LOVE seeing you here!!

Another Sneaky Peek from Patti for Penny : )

Hello friends : )

Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  I just have another tease for you today from the new "Happy Heart Day" release from Penny Black that will be available soon!!

I wanted to show you my whole card because I'm terrible at keeping secrets!! I remember how carefully my parents kept me from seeing my siblings' gifts before Christmas because I would nearly burst with the excitement to share!! That is exactly how I feel about this release from Penny Black.  BUT!! mums the word so don't try to coax it out of me!! : )

Fun Friday with Patti and Penny

Yeah!! It's December and I am sending you warm wishes from New Mexico!! How is your weather? are you still loving winter? I am because the only snow around here is on these cards!

As promised here is another card I created using the Neighborhood Border die from Penny Black's Welcome Winter 2018 release.  For this card I used only a small portion of the die but then I added two "Tall Trees".  My scene is set against a polka dot sky (imagine those are big white snow flakes).  Can you see it? : )

My second card uses an image that is so cute it would melt anything cold for miles!!

These cards were created using supplies from Penny Black's Welcome Winter 2018 collection.  You can see the entire collection HERE.  The specific supplies for my cards are listed below.

Penny Black Sneak Peek and a Watercolor Show and Tell

It is Sneak Peek Week at Penny Black and I get to join the party by sharing some peeks of my own!  I have been having a lot of fun playing with the new "Happy Heart Day" collection from Penny Black that will be available for purchase very soon!

I would also like to share  my watercolor painting that I have just finished.

I started painting this picture for a wedding gift for a sweet young couple who will say their vows this coming weekend.  When her parents heard about it they asked me to include the bride and groom's names and wedding date on the picture.  I was kind of stumped by this request and couldn't think of how to accomplish it.  This is what I came up with : ) The picture is framed to an 11 x 14"

I cut the letters with an old QuicKutz alphabet from the same watercolor paper.

My love for painting in watercolor happened when Jill Foster and I took a watercolor class in about July of 2017.  I have not spent as much time as I would like practicing this craft.  This is my third "frame worthy" picture LOL and even though it is far from perfect I think my young friends will like it.

I just realized I never shared my second picture here so I will do that later this week as well.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by! and don't forget to visit the Penny Black blog to see the darling peeks they have prepared for you!
