Fun Friday with Patti & Penny

Hello friends : ) It is Friday (woo hoo!) and I would like to take another opportunity to share some cards I created using my favorite images from Penny Black.

I like to make card "series" to give as gifts to my - non card making - friends and family.  Here is an assortment of cards I created for my BFF's Mom.

My cards are all super straight forward so for the most part you can easily see how I created them.  And being that it is such a photo heavy post I will chat less but also include the supplies I used directly under each card.  I hope that helps keep everything snug. : )

I used Belle #40-595 and it's complimentary cut out #51-415 for the flower. Using my Misti and Tombo markers I was able to color directly on to the stamp several times and get some nice shading and color variations in my image.  I also used my favorite stencil, Dotlets # 25-007  on this card.  The sentiment is from Sprinkles & Smiles #30-297.

Starting with plain white card stock I stamped Spontaneous Joy #40-597, again using the Misti and Tombo markers I was able to get good color depth and shading (love these images!!)  I cut the panel out using Antique Frames #51-397.  The sentiment is from Eloquence #30-162.

This is a one layer card using Amaryllis #40-577 and a sentiment from Winter Days #30-517.

Starting with an Elegant Stitching #51-440 die cut and stamp Poise #4406H I again colored with my Tombo markers and used the Misti so I could stamp repeatedly for color variation and depth. The sentiment is from Eloquence #30-162.

Again starting with Elegant Stitching #51-440  I created a frame for my top panel stamped with Winged Beauty #40-376. Sentiment from Tiny Treats #30-276.

Elegant Stitching #51-440 comes to the rescue once again!! : ) the perfect setting for this Red Delight #40-573 and a sentiment from Season's Gifts #30-316.

I truly hope your are happy in your heart and enjoying your life - finding lots of time to do your favorite things with people you love.   Thanks a bunch for stopping by!

Twofer - for the birds : )

Hello my friends Happy Thursday.  Are you shocked to see me here two days in a row? Well if you think this is nifty let me invite you to pop in again tomorrow for my, recently MIA, Fun Friday with Patti and Penny post. I hope you won't be disappointed.

I am getting in under the wire again on a fun challenge that I love to play with... Darnell's Twofer Challenge.  Today is the last day so I better cut to the chase!

I have been getting some help on my Copic Marker selections.  For my first card I colored the penguin with warm grays.  For the second card I used cool grays, at Jeanne, owner of Creative Bliss blog's, suggestion.  I doubt you will detect much difference but in real life I like the cool grays better for my cool - Popsicle wielding friend! : )

I wanted to use a similar design for both my cards in that I wanted to frame the little penguins in each card.  The second card uses the same penguin image stamped twice - but with masking you can't see the popsicle behind the head of my front bird.

I think it is too late to suggest you join the fun at Darnell's challenge blog but I hope it won't be too late for you to pop over to see the amazing cards created by both her design team and her followers!

Edited to add: Darnell suggested I enter my cards in the gallery at Fusion Card Challenge.  Thank you Darnell! : ) I have enjoyed seeing this great challenge in Blogland but have never joined in the fun myself... until today! check out this incredible inspiration photo...

Have a great day!

Keeping it Simple

Hello friends : )

Today I am being featured on the Primary Penny Black blog where you will see a few cards that I created to showcase Penny Black's newest release, "Happy Heart Day".  I won't duplicate them all here in this post but perhaps you will have time to pop over to see my other cards.  I hope you'll like them as much as I do. : )

But so you don't think I got you here under false pretenses let me share a couple cards I created using this cutie patootie.   Isn't she just huggable!?

On my first card I colored  the image with my Copic Markers!! grin. I'm having fun with the Copics that's for sure!!  I tilted the card so you could see the little bee buzzing around inside.

For my next card I used Prisma Pencils and Gamsol to blend the image.   If you know me you know I tend to use soft, light colors on my cards but I have to tell you the results you get from Copic markers have me getting in touch with my BRIGHT SIDE!! : )

Wanna hear a true confession now?  I didn't color her hair!.... on either card! I was scared. I hope by the time they go in the mail I will have practiced hair enough to color it in. Gulp.

No matter how you color her though this little gal is darling!!

If you have time, don't forget to stop by the primary Penny Black Blog for more from PB's awesome new release.

Have a great day.

Jill's birthday was actually yesterday but I wanted to be sure she received her card before seeing it here on my blog. : )

There is still time to join the challenge at Inkspirational! I hope to see you in the gallery : )

CAS Stencil Challenge

Hello friends : )

I am here with a card for Loll's first ever CAS Stencil Challenge!! Check out all the details of this fun new challenge HERE

I created a rectangle stencil from velum paper and sponged turquoise ink before adding some stenciled snowflakes.  Then, using some 1/6 " Post It tape (correction tape) I masked off a little border around the original rectangle.  Finally I stamped my sentiment! : ) Easy Peasy and ready to pop in the mail!!

Please join me in the gallery at the new CAS Stencil Challenge as well as at the, always fun, CASology challenge blog where the theme is "Frozen"!!

Sorry this is so late!

Happy New Year friends!! : )  I have been seriously MIA lately and have not gotten around to your blogs in a long time! I plan to rectify that today but before I go here are a few cards that I made for Mary at Serendipity Stamps.

Mary challenged me to come up with a few designs new moms or newlyweds might use for belated "Thank You" cards.

OH baby!! I thought this turned out cute : )  and could be used for any "Sorry this is late" kind of card...

Here is a card I colored with Copic markers.  I know Copic markers have been around from a long time but this is old dog has tried them for the first time!!

I have even taken Sandy Allnock's Copic Jumpstart class (which I recommend ).  You'll be seeing a lot more cards using Copic markers from me as I am LOVING!! the incredible bold bright colors I'm achieving when I use them : )

It might be a sweet touch for a new bride to make a card like this using colored card stock and markers in her wedding colors.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by today! I hope this new year is off to a wonderful start for you and your family.

Please visit Mary's all new Etsy shop HERE and her on-line store HERE : ) and when you visit tell her I said hello!! : )
